A-B-B-A was originally conceived for the exhibition Accrochage — Accrochage at the gallery Estrany-de la Mota, Barcelona and curated by Moritz Küng. Accrochage — Accrochagewas an exhibition that combined two exhibitions mounted in the two rooms of the gallery.
The exhibition in the first room was created using only artworks by artist represented by the gallery. Each work had a counterpart in the second room, providen by an invited guest artist.
A-B-B-A responded to the work by Douglas Gordon The Philosophy of Me II, two mirrored photographies showing two arms, one tattooed with an A, the other one with a B.
A-B-B-A consists of 4 Loudspeakers mounted on the wall and is a 7’34” composition that only used the notes of the first two measures of the ABBA song Knowing Me Knowing You.
